Rooted: A Year-End Reflection
Merry Christmas,
I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank each of you for your generosity of time and prayer over this past year. It has been clear that Satan would love to stop endeavors like Rooted—but it has been even more apparent that God has graciously blessed this ministry every step of the way.
This month, I’ve been blessed to continue conversations with last year’s students, to teach and walk alongside this year’s students, and to interview potential students for next year. At times it feels like living in three different worlds - but each one holds a piece of Jenny’s and my hearts. These are incredible men and women we get to do life with, and I’m deeply grateful for the front-row seat we have to what God has done, is doing, and is preparing to do.
As we head into a new year, may I ask you to keep praying? When something new begins to take root and you realize it’s going to work, going to last, it can be tempting to grow comfortable. I don’t want that for Rooted. I want us to keep pressing forward, to keep growing, and to keep getting better. Please continue praying for all of us: the students, the teachers, Jenny and me, and the many partners God brings alongside this ministry. There is something truly special happening here, and we are grateful that we are not alone in longing to see it continue and grow.
As this year comes to a close, we are also mindful that Rooted exists because of faithful partners who believe in investing in the next generation. Prayer has been the foundation of this ministry, and generosity has been one of the ways God has chosen to sustain it. If you feel led to support Rooted financially as part of your year-end giving, please know that your gift directly impacts the lives of these students by helping provide teaching, discipleship, housing, and opportunities to grow deeply rooted in Christ.
Whether you give, pray, or continue walking alongside us in both ways, we are deeply thankful. Your partnership allows Rooted to keep pressing forward with confidence and faith.
We hope you have a wonderful Christmas season - and that more than once you find yourself overwhelmed by the truth that we serve a God who loves us this deeply, and who continues to root and establish us in the faith, filling us with peace, joy, and thankfulness.
Merry Christmas,
Roger & Jenny
